An angel is a spirit being, often shown as a person with wings. They are seen as a link between God and people in religions like Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. Religions that believe in a God separate from the world need angels to connect God and humans. In contrast, religions where God and the world are seen as one have less need for angels. Still, angels might be seen as helpers to find a better connection with the divine.
